Meet the Team

We are passionate readers who love nothing more than discovering fantastic books and sharing them with friends. We recommend books that move us to laughter and tears—and everything in between. Trust us when we say, “You’ve got to read this!”

Sarah Jane Abbott is an assistant editor for Paula Wiseman Books and Beach Lane Books, imprints of Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing.  She grew up having Nancy Drew books read to her by her father, and is now an avid reader of mystery, thriller, and horror, along with everything from literary fiction to poetry to personal essays.  She graduated from Bucknell University with a degree in English and a concentration in creative writing.

Danielle Bucco joined Simon & Schuster in 2018 as a copy coordinator after completing the NYU Publishing Institute. A lifelong reader with a compulsive book buying addiction has led her to owning more books than she could possibly read but she enjoys everything from fantasy to romance to historical fiction, and basically anything with a character-driven story. Aside from reading, she spends her time hiking, learning photography, traveling, and wishing she had a dog. You can follow her adventures on Instagram @DanielleBucco.

Amy Cardoza joined the Simon & Schuster team in 2018 as a Contracts Assistant and since then has gathered enough books to completely fill her apartment. She loves thrillers, horror, true crime, and contemporary fiction but will pretty much read anything that sparks her curiosity. If she isn’t listening to excessive amounts of podcasts, you can find her curled up with a coffee and reading one of the thousands of books on her TBR pile. You can follow her on Instagram @babycardoza, and her bookstagram @boozehoundbookclub.

Maddie Ehrenreich is an over-caffeinated book hoarder also known as the Studio4 production assistant at Simon & Schuster. Growing up Maddie was fed a steady diet of fantasy, mystery, horror, paranormal and science fiction stories that allowed her to grow into the content creator she is today. When she is not reading, writing, or binge-watching television from the early 2000’s she can be found wandering the streets of NYC searching for the best baked goods and getting easily distracted by dogs and shiny objects.

Kerry FialloKerry Fiallo is a New York native and copywriter at Simon & Schuster. A lifelong voracious reader, she has a particular fondness for ghost stories, history, and anything to do with Mary Shelley, Ada Lovelace, and the Brontë sisters. The only thing she may love more than books is black tea, but they do often go well together. You can find her on Twitter as she navigates through literature, pop culture, and fandom: @ReadingInNYC.

Erin Madison is an assistant marketing manager at Simon & Schuster. She adores historical fiction, has a secret love for dark stories, and devours great YA. (A short list of her favorite authors includes Emma Donoghue, Lisa See, George Saunders, Reyna Grande, Jeannette Walls, Scott Westerfeld, David Levithan, Libba Bray, Laurie Halse Anderson, Robin Wasserman, and Courtney Summers.) In her free time, she writes LGBTQ+ YA novels. You can find out more about her writing, the books she loves, and her black cat on Twitter @ErinWrites93.

Tolani Osan is a Marketing Associate at Simon & Schuster.  A daughter of Nigerian immigrants, Tolani enjoys literary fiction about the tensions between cultures and classes. Her favorite book is Khaled Hosseini’s “A Thousand Splendid Suns,” which she’s made a pact with herself to revisit every three years. She also founded and runs her own blog, TolanisLifeLessons.com. You can enjoy her musings about pop culture, fashion, and literature on Twitter @TolaniHerself.

Emily Polson is a publishing assistant at Simon & Schuster Audio. Originally from central Iowa, she attended college in Jackson, Mississippi, before moving to a small Basque village to teach English to trilingual teenagers. Now living in Brooklyn, she can often be found meandering through Prospect Park listening to a good audiobook or scoping out free poetry readings around the city. According to the unabashedly nerdy spreadsheet she uses to track her reading, Emily’s top genres are memoir, literary fiction, poetry, contemporary YA, and middle grade novels that feature ghosts.

Hannah Schaffer is the Senior Digital Content Manager for Off the Shelf & Book Club Favorites. When she’s not watching melodramatic television or reading magical realism, she’s reading memoir, watching The Great British Bake Off, or eating her way around New York.

Sarah Woodruff is an Ed/Lib Marketing Manager at Simon & Schuster. She long ago embraced the art of reading multiple books in a variety of genres at once, and is always eager to talk about them. You can find her at @swoodswords.
